Kundalini Yoga is a complete system of Yoga. It was brought to the West in the late 60’s by Yogi Bhajan. It’s a technology to awaken your consciousness, balance your endocrine system, and detox mind and body through the nervous, lymphatic, respiratory, and geo-urinary systems enabling us to reach our creative potential.
As you practice you grow, shed old behaviours, attitudes, self-destructive habits, and you gain new perspectives, capacities and vitality. Known as the Yoga of Awareness, its goal is to assist you in coming into great awareness and enlightenment … recognising your own inner-light.
- Asana (posture)
- Mudra (hand postures)
- Pranyama (breath work)
- Mantra (healing sound vibration)
- Seva (community service)
- Bandha (body locks)
A Kriya is an action that leads to manifestation, just like a sunflower seed blooms. The Kriya is made up of a codified sequence of postures, Pranyama and Mantra’s that flow together in a specific energetic way for specific repeatable results. Kundalini Yoga is a geometry of the human body and the fulfillment of the human psyche. Every angle and triangle that is created through Asana (posture) has an effect.
Most importantly, Kundalini Yoga takes you away from the chatter of daily life to a place where you can experience real freedom and stillness, opening your mind to inspiration, excitement and new possibilities. Once we awaken Kundalini energy, we raise our energetic vibration to release stress and allow our mind to come back to peace and balance.
There are rewards for any challenge you find difficult, information is just information, the real juice lies within the practice.
